Cuddle Bug

I had to post these pictures of my girl...she's gotten so big but hasn't lost any of her love to cuddle with her momma.

Renee Myers & Courtney Vermett, my two very best friends from college. We went to Illinois State University and met freshman year; Nay and Court were roommates and I lived down the hall. We then spent the next 3 years together playing rugby, partying, procrastinating on college papers, and just hanging out...the memories...and wow the stories...

Fast forward 7 years...Renee & her husband Alan have a 6 month old baby, Jackson, Brian & I are expecting in April, and Courtney & her fiancee are getting married March 20. Unbelievable. Where has the time gone?

We met up at Courtney's parents house on Tuesday. Renee's sister, Jamie, is doing our makeup for Court's wedding so I had my makeup trial, we ate lunch, played with Jackson, and did some much needed catching up.

Trippy's First Christmas

Our last year just the two of us...what a great feeling. I've been waiting for this feeling for quite awhile now. I am just so excited to share all that we have with our baby girl to come.

Brian & I have always made sure to wake up Christmas morning at our own house that way we can celebrate together first. In past years it's been a rushed morning. Waking up early, getting ready, quickly opening up one another's presents while we down our traditional breakfast of cinnamon rolls before heading out to either my parent's house or his. This year we moved a little slower. We let ourselves sleep-in until 9:30am and then took our time. It was really nice. It was nice to just be together and enjoy one another's company before having to bustle about. Trip made this Christmas extra special. I know she's just a dog, but it was fun giving her gifts from Santa and watching her "open" them.

Next year will be even better. We'll have an 8 month old to spoil, spoil, spoil! Why do I think we may have company here to watch McKenna open her gifts from Santa?!

Instead of buying for everyone, my sisters & I have always picked names. We buy for one sister that way we can save a little bit of money, but also concentrate on buying something special for just one person. Brian is now part of the "sister gifts". We only have a few pictures of gifts being opened because my family had already opened their gifts before we arrived. So, most of the opening of gifts is Brian & I...oh, and McKenna...this little girl is SO spoiled already and she isn't even here yet!

I love Christmas, but it sure does wear me out!

On The Eve

Ahhh Christmas ... what a most wonderful time of the year.

Christmas Eve is a special evening each year that we share with both of our families - The Milazzo's AND The Witkowski's.

The tradition began in 2006, the year Brian & I got married. Our moms trade off each year hosting. This year it was my mom's turn to host the Witko's. After enjoying lots of yummy appetizers, we settled in for Portillo's italian beef, cheesy potatoes, and salad. Santa even made an appearance!

We are very lucky to have such amazing families - we always have a great time together!
