Round 4

On Monday, we made our way to Edward Hospital for round 4 of McKenna's Thyroid blood draw.

Kenna & her piggy warmer in the waiting room

McKenna's thyroid stimulating hormone was slow to jump into action. Her levels have been in a grey area...not ridiculously high, but not low enough to call "normal". We're aiming for a level less than 5...last check her TSH was at 5.59...oh so close.

Dr. Kreiling said that there is no real clear research on what a typical infant's TSH level should be, so it can be difficult deciding what to do. Do we continue to recheck her level or do we just head right to a pediatric endocrinologist?

Round 4 was going to be our deciding factor. If her TSH level didn't come back less than 5, Dr. Kreiling would refer us to a specialist.

Well...how does 4.1 sound?!

4.1 ... WAHOO!!!

Kenna's TSH level has come into the typical range and it's something we don't have to worry about anymore! Yay!

But, as I've learned in my 4 short months as a mom...that's one less thing I now have to worry about.

YAY!!! So happy to hear that Kenna-girl isn't TOO much like her Mama! Typical range, just where you'd want it! Now, just tell her not to give you anything else to worry about for a while...not until she starts talking about boys! :)

You will forever worry about your girl, just as I do each and every day of the year. What a sweet girl... nothing better than the PUNKY girl!
