You are 15 months old! You sure are one big girl!
You constantly amaze us with how quickly you learn things and how much you understand. You sure are one smart little girl!

15 months old, July 9, 2011
I was planning on stopping these letters when you turned one years old, but I decided I just couldn't do it. There is so much you are accomplishing and I don't want to forget any of it. This has been a perfect way to share and document all that you have been up to...so...I'll continue at 18, 21, and 24 months and then we'll move to yearly! :)
What an awesome 3 months this has been! You are wearing 12 month clothes, size 3 shoes, and size 3 diapers.

You began walking in April when you were 12 months old and you've just taken off since then...you have the bumps and bruises to prove it! You are one very brave little girl, you want to try everything on your own, even if it's not something you're ready to do on your own. You keep us on our toes!

You haven't really started talking yet. You only have a few words, so far. You say...Dad, Yeah, Dog, Trip, Yes, Tuck, Hi (Hiii-eee!), Up, but you usually only talk when you're at home with Daddy, Benny, Trippy & I. You are a pretty quiet girl any where else! Usually you're just a quiet observer watching what is going on around you.
You have picked up on signing and you are able to sign to help communicate your needs or to answer our questions. You can sign...more, yes, no, please, cookie, pancake.

We've had three visits to the doctor's office this past week! UGH! Last week you were diagnosed with an ear infection in your right ear. You were given amoxicillin to take twice a day for 10 days. By day 8 you had developed the worst rash I have ever seen! From your head to your toes you were covered. We headed back to the doctor to find out that you are allergic to amoxicillin. Thank goodness that's all it was! And thank goodness your ear infection was all healed up, so we could stop taking the antibiotic. Benadryl and time were prescribed to help clear up your rash.

On Thursday night we met with Dr. Kreiling for your 15 month well check. You weighed 18 lbs. 5 oz. (less than 3rd percentile), you were 29 3/8 in. tall (25th percentile), and your head circumference was 17 5/8 in. (10-25th percentile). Your weight was a bit alarming. Being at the less than 3rd percentile, you fell off of the chart. As a precaution, Dr. Kreiling wants you to have blood work completed to make sure that everything is okay. She is confident that you are a healthy girl, but just to make sure they will test your blood for celiac disease, proper thyroid function, proper kidney function, and more. She advised us to wait atleast 2 weeks to have your blood work taken that way we can make sure your allergic reaction to the amoxicillin has completed run its course. Oh my silly, sweet girl. It just never ends, does it?! Everything else checked out great. You are doing everything you're supposed to be doing and even more!!! You had two immunizations, MMR and Pentacel, one in each leg. You screamed out right away, but then settled quickly as we snuggled. You're such a big girl.

You have decided that you are too big to sit in your high chair. You want to sit at the table with Daddy & I on your own chair. So, I gave in and we bought you a booster seat. Now you have your own chair and you can sit up to the table like the big girl you are!

You love to help around the house. You like to close the blinds at night, get the mail with Dad, give Trippy treats, feed Trippy, let Trippy out, and dust. Your favorite thing to do is to water the flowers outside, you'll walk out the front door and grab the watering can and tip it onto our pots of flowers. Too bad it's too heavy for you when there is actually water in the can! I think you like watering the flowers the best because then we can look for birdies. Oh my, how you love to watch the birdies outside. When you see one you point and start walking toward it. Too bad they always fly away! They don't realize you're a nice little girl who just wants to say Hiii-eee!
You have tons of things you like to do. Right now you like to play in your sandbox, you like to play with your Dogs, your horsie, and your tea set. You still love going down in the basement to play with Daddy. You push and pull your golf set around the basement, almost like your vacuuming. You love the throw the ball for Trippy to fetch. You like playing keep away from Trippy. You love to draw with sidewalk chalk on the driveway and you can't get enough of bubbles!

You love your little brother so much. You try to comfort him when he is sad by giving him his bottle or by trying to pick him up! You love to give him hugs and kisses and you do all the time. You always make sure to go and get his favorite ball or his turtle for him to play with when he is playing on the floor. You have always been good at sharing, but there are times when you decide that you don't want him playing with them and you pull them away from him. Ahhh big sister!

One toy you will NOT share with anyone is... PUPPY! You love puppy so much. Puppy comes with us everywhere we go and can usually be found either tucked in your arm or sitting on your chair in the living room. We've decided that your chair is the safe spot for your special toys...puppy and baby...and when you get up from your nap that's where we put them.
You are able to label many body parts on yourself and on others and on Trippy! You can label nose, hair, ears, eyes, mouth, teeth, hands, feet, butt, belly.

You love your Tinkerbell sunglasses! (thanks Jackson!)
Your favorite foods are mandarin oranges, Oreo cookies, strawberry jelly, pancakes, yogurt and whip cream. GP likes to squirt whip cream into your mouth and you have definitely learned quickly that he's the only one you can do that with and when we're with him you take him right to the fridge!
It's no secret how much you love Trippy. She's the first one you look for when you get up, and the first one you say hi to. You love your Trippy girl. Not only do you want to play with her, but now you want to take care of her too. You grab her collar from the door and let us know when she wants to go out and you'll let us know if we forget to take her collar off. You like to put her collar around your neck (not clasped) and walk around with it draped around your neck.
Although dogs and birds are probably your favorite, you love all animals and you've loved being able to see bunches of them at the zoos we've been to this summer. You can tell us what dogs, monkeys, and horses say...they sound pretty similar though! :)
I can't even imagine what the next 3 months will bring!
Just know you are the most perfect little girl in the whole world.
I love you sweet girl.
Love, Mommy
