God Bless Brayden Everett

Brayden,

You are a precious miracle, and a dream come true.
It will be our honor, to grow in faith with you.
We welcome this invitation, extended with love.
We will be your angel, sharing promises from above.
As we gently hold you, and look at your sweet face.
We say a little prayer, that you be touched by grace.
So much of life ahead, we dream of all you'll be.
We will hold your hand, and stand by your side.
We will be your model, your teacher, and your guide.
We will give you time, with thoughts of you each day.
We will keep you in our prayers, as you find your way.
We look forward to the years ahead, and being godparents to you.
May our treasured bond grow strong, and in faith our hearts be true.

God Bless You, Brayden.

Brian & I were very touched and honored to have been asked by Brad & Megan to be Brayden's Godparents.

We celebrated his Baptism on July 10.

4 Months Old

Dear Benny,

You are 4 months old! Holy shmoly...I can't believe you're already 4 months old!

You have really come into your own this past month. You are a happy, sweet, smiley boy who sure does love his Momma!

We met with Dr. Pierce for your 4 month well check and immunizations. You weighed 13 lbs. 2 oz. (20th percentile), you were 24 1/2 in. long (30th percentile), and your head measured 16 1/8 in. (20th percentile). You're a bit of a peanut...smaller than we thought! We found out that you have an ear infection - your first :( - in your left ear and you were prescribed amoxicillin to take twice a day for 10 days. You screamed the loudest we've ever heard from you when you received the shots in your thighs. The nurse handed you right to Dad and you calmed down pretty quickly. I hate that cry so much.

Dr. Pierce told us that we can start feeding you rice cereal once a day. How is it that you're already old enough to begin eating rice cereal?! You seem too little!!!

You had a hard time eating your rice cereal. We tried two nights in a row and decided that you just may not be ready yet. You kept pushing the spoon and cereal out of your mouth with your tongue and when we did get the cereal past your tongue it made you gag. We decided to give you a break and try again this week. Sometimes babies aren't ready and that's okay!

You hate to lay on your back. If we lay you down on your back, you will immediately roll over to your belly. You love tummy time because it makes it much easier to watch McKenna & Trippy and play with your favorite toy - your ball!

You are wearing 3 month clothes and size 2 diapers.

You go to bed around 7:30-8:00 each night. You have turned into an early bird this month! You've been getting up around 6:30-6:45am each morning. I think you like the alone time with me before your sister and puppy get up! I love the snuggle time in the morning with you too, Booski!

You're a thumb sucker! To comfort yourself you put your thumb in your mouth and you lay your fingers on your face on top of your nose and extending up to cover your eyes. You put everything you can get your hands on in your mouth. We think you may be an early teether because you'll often pull our fingers into your mouth to chew on. You drool all over the place!

GBA!

Just a funny little way my sisters & I express our blessings for America.

Which all started from this cute picture of Macker...

Every year we celebrate America's birthday at Arlington Race Track. It's our day with just Dad. As usual, mom was attending the National Education Association's Annual Meeting and Representative Assembly, but this year it was in Chicago, so she wasn't too far away!

We love the 4th and we love celebrating it at the track. This year it was a bit different. Instead of sitting up in the grandstand in the box seats, we decided to sit down in the picnic area so that Kenna could run around and be more comfortable. Lucky enough, it was also Family Day, so there were pony rides and a petting zoo.

Brad's great idea on getting the kids out of the sun, a blanket draped across the two strollers! Worked perfect! Benny & Brayden played and layed under there pretty much the whole time!
