Rehearsal (dinner) of the Big Day

This weekend was a pretty busy one for us. On Friday, Brian & McKenna picked me up from school and we headed straight down to Watseka, IL for Brian's brother, Eric's wedding weekend. First up was the wedding rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. Along with just about everyone else, we decided that 80 East was the best route to take out of town....let's just say it took us much longer than expected... and we didn't even make it to the rehearsal. Good thing Brian has been in a few weddings and pretty much knew what to do!

Brian was honored to be Eric's Best Man this weekend. He couldn't have been more proud of his younger brother as he wed his love, Sabrina.

Here are some pictures of the rehearsal dinner, which took place at the Watseka Theatre, the same location as the reception. We had a really nice time.

BabyWitko2 - Week 12

So...I thought I'd be good about taking my weekly belly bump pictures for Baby #2, but that has not been the case. I can't seem to remember to take them at all. Oh well! I take them when I remember and that's about the best I can do right now. Funny how your 2nd pregnancy can be so different. It's not that we're not excited, because you know we couldn't be any more excited for this little one. I guess it's just that I have so much more going on right now that it's the last thing I think about. In the scheme of things, it really isn't that important, right???

Plus...UGH...I am sooo much bigger this time around...

But...man, I sure do have one cute little daughter, don't I???? She and her brother or sister are SO worth this big belly. I am one lucky Momma!

McKenna's Talented Cousins

On Thursday night, McKenna & I headed over to Neuqua Valley High School to cheer for my cousin, Mikey in his football game against Naperville Central. They won 7-6! It always feels good to beat another one of the Naperville schools!

We got to see Danny too! Danny is on the
Sophomore team and plays on Friday nights.
McKenna sure loves these boys! stud!
Aunt Lynnie & Kenna

Neuqua is #1!
Aunt Lynn, Sandy Riesner, & Grandma
Sandy's son hit the game winning field goal!

I'm back!

I know, I know...it's been forever...but I promise, I'm back to the blogging world...finally!

It's been a very busy 14 days for us here in the Witkowski family. We've had a ton going on...so, there's lots to update you on...enjoy this nice long post and pictures of our sweetness!

On Friday, August 20, we received the occupancy permit for our new house in Plainfield. So, that meant we could finally move in! Moving Day was suddenly upon us. We became Plainfield residents on Saturday, August 21st and we couldn't be any more excited!

home sweet home

success! the POD is empty!

we have the most amazing friends and
family who came and helped us move in
Here's my father in law, Rich, my dad, Tim Bea,
Brian, my cousin, Nick, and my Momma!
Brad & Megan helped out too, but strategically
missed the emptying of the POD :)

Aunt Krissy's job was babysitter!
She hung out with Kenna while we got things situated.
Yes, I think she had the best job of all!

everyone had a job...
my mother in law, Barb, measured all of our windows for the blinds!

here's Kenna waking up on the first morning at our new house
she's one happy girl...I think she liked sleeping in her crib!

first day of school...we were both nervous -
but we made it and we're doing great!

On Friday, August 27th, we headed to US Cellular Field to cheer on the
Yankees against the White Sox...Kenna wore her Jeter shirt!

Our first family outing to a MLB game!
After a bit of an initial shock of how loud everyone was cheering, McKenna got used to the noise and did great! She had an awesome time! We even got to see some fireworks.

Lizzie, Grandma, and GP

Daddy loved taking Kenna to a baseball game,
but he really can't wait until it's a CARDINALS game!

we finally got to see and hang out with Aunt City Girl!

Aunt Krissy & her favorite girl

We don't have much furniture in our house yet on the first floor. We're waiting on Labor Day sales since we have to buy so much...family room, formal living room, dining room, WitkoBaby2's nursery...

So, needless to say, we play on the floor a lot!

favorite toy

hi love!

I ran into McKenna's pediatrician at Curriculum Night last week. (Her kids go to my school, and I was actually her daughter's first grade teacher!) I told her how McKenna was loving her rice cereal and that she has a huge interest in food. When we are eating dinner, she follows your fork back and forth from your mouth to the plate trying to take a bite. It is hilarious. So, I was hoping that it might be okay if we start introducing her to vegetables. Dr. Kreiling gave us the go ahead! So, we started with sweet potatoes. Kenna does not like sweet potatoes! Every time she takes a bite she cough/gags and her entire body twitches. It's really pretty funny. After a few days, I decided to try carrots to see if she would like them better. We've only just tried them, but she seems to like them much more than sweet potatoes! She is quite the messy eater, whatever she is eating ends up all over her...which she then loves to share with Trippy!

sweet potato face!

We've had the most amazing time being McKenna's mom & dad. We couldn't ask for a better little girl. Everyday just gets better and better. I'm just so lucky!

We are loving our new house and everything that comes with it. Stay tuned, I plan on sharing photos of the house. I'm just waiting for things to be a bit further along.

School has started, we're about 8 days in already and things are going well. It's no secret that I love my job and I love my kids, so that is helping the fact that I'm not getting to spend the whole day with my favorite girl. I am very thankful for Grandma Witkowski and Aunt Lynn for watching Kenna throughout the week. We are so lucky to have so much family around to help us out. I'm not sure I'd be able to make it during the day without them. Love you!

ChiliMack

We don't often get to see Aunt Mackie because of her work schedule at Chili's. Sometimes we have to take things into our own hands and visit her at work. There's nothing like Mackenzie serving us dinner! :)

It was so loud in the restaurant that McKenna decided
the best thing to do would be to go to sleep!

uh...get to work! My Diet Coke is in need of a refill!

brother and sister in law love!

Mack is currently opening a new Chili's in Vernon Hills, IL and we miss her so much! We are so proud of her hard work. She's working her way up the Chili's totem pole and was asked to be the bar lead at the next opening! Way to go, Mackie!

We love you!

Our First Girl

Not surprising, McKenna has taken over the spotlight in our lives. Our poor pup-scicle Trippy has tried to go right along with it, but she is ever yearning for just a little bit of alone time with Brian or I.

We are very lucky. Trip has been a great puppy to Kenna since day one of bringing her home from the hospital. She loves to sniff her and will even lay down to cuddle with her on the couch. She's a great sister. I really think that they'll have a great time growing up together.

But, it's no secret that Trip misses the days where she was the one and only. Snuggles, cuddles, walks at the lake, treats, lots of playing, and lots of love. Our days sure have changed.

Trippy & I got some alone time recently, as we headed to the vet for her immunizations and checkup. A pretty sad way to get time together, but she was excited nonetheless!

At just about a year and a half old, Trip weighed 28 lbs. 7 oz. and the vet said that he doesn't want to see her gain anymore weight. Ha! Uh, she's a Beagle...she loves to eat...everything. Just wait until McKenna & BabyWitko2 are sharing their food! He recommended that she go on a lite food and that she eat carrots for treats...not Pup-peroni. Poor Trippy...she looooves Pup-peroni!

I'm not sure I'll be able to eliminate them totally, but we'll throw in a few carrots for good measure!

It'll be a sad day for Trip when we move out of mom & dad's house. She sure has loved living with her best friend, Pepper! The two of them are inseparable. I think the Beagle that lives next door should suffice...he likes to bark just as much as she does! :)

We love you, Snugs!
