2 Months Old

Dear Benny,

Oh my goodness you are 2 months old!

This month we met with Dr. Kreiling for your 2 month well check. She was very excited to finally meet you! You weighed 11 lbs. (25th %tile), you were 22 1/2 in. tall (nearly the 50th %tile), and your head circumference was 15 1/4 in. (25th %tile). Your belly button has been irritated on and off for quite some time. Sometimes it'll be red and gooey and then other times clear up. Dr. Kreiling took a look and said that there's a granule of your umbilical cord left in there and it is irritating the area. She prescribed some cream to be put on it twice a day for 10 days to try to help clear it up for good. After we discussed a few other things. You received your very first round of immunizations and you did so good. You cried pretty hard but as soon as you were back in my arms you stopped crying. It always makes me sad when you have to get shots! But, you got over it very quickly and that made me happy.



I am VERY excited to report that you are SLEEPING THROUGH THE NIGHT!!!! WAHOOO! You slept through the night for the first time on Mother's Day...how perfect is that?! You were 7 weeks and 6 days old! Needless to say, you are a great sleeper. You now sleep in your crib. You have your last bottle around 8:30 and go to bed for the night around 9:00-9:30. You wake up in the morning usually around 6:30-6:45am. We get lots of snuggle and chatter time in the morning because Kenna doesn't get up until 7:30-8:00. You are always so happy after that first bottle. I love that special time with you!



You don't like binkies very much, you just spit them out. But you do like to suck on your fingers. You work very hard to find your hand and when you do it usually settles you right down.

You are a bit of a crank! You love so much to be held...by your Momma! If you are not being held then you are usually crying. When you're being held you have a couple of favorite positions. You like when I hold you up high on my chest so that you can nestle right into the nook of my neck. When I have you in that position you like it when I'm bouncing up and down and patting your back. You also like it when we hold you in our right arm (not the left!) like Superman. We think you like the pressure on your tummy. You are one funny little boy!

You are vocalizing a lot. We have "conversations". You smile and coo when we talk to you. You make great eye contact and you are always looking around the room trying to find me and your sister.


Oh how you love your sister...and oh my how she loves you!

You are wearing size 3 month clothes and size 1-2 diapers.

You are eating 4 oz. about every 3-4 hours. But you seem to always be hungry. Just recently I started giving you a 6 oz. morning bottle hoping that it fills up your belly a little more. But we have to watch out because you are quite a spitter too. I often have a nicely soaked shoulder :)

The Big 3 - 0

Much to her dismay, my sister Kristen, turned 30 on May 14th.

She hasn't been looking forward to this for quite sometime...she's been talking about it forever. But here it was.

The Big 3-0.

We are big on birthdays in my family, in case you hadn't noticed, so in pure Milazzo fashion, we had a 30th birthday bash for our Krissy Poo.

I think it helped her to ease into 30 and to realize it really isn't so bad. I have loved my 30's so far and I know that she will too.

Here's to you, Krissy! May your 30's bring you continued happiness and love, I know it'll be your best years yet!

We had a great time celebrating Kristen's 30th. Funny though how different parties are for us now...we pretty much stayed out of the 'party zone' and stayed in a more kid friendly zone.

I like both.

Ahhhh Water!

Second only to Puppies, McKenna loves water.

I mean this girl loves water.

She loves to take baths, she loves to drink water, she loves to splash the water in the sink, and she loves to play in Trippy's water dish. There's no stopping her. If she sees water, she will beeline to it and splash away laughing and giggling.

Brad, Megan & Brayden know this girl pretty well, I'd say. For her 1st birthday they got her a sand and water table. We broke it out last week, when temperatures hit the 80s. I filled the whole thing with water (we still need to get some sand!) and headed out front.

Oh how she loved it.

A Day for Mom's

My Mother's Day began with breakfast at Bob Evan's in Ohio. We met the Witkowski's there before embarking on our 5 hour drive home. We headed right over to my parent's house to celebrate my Momma. It was a gorgeous day!

We enjoyed the day out in the backyard, playing in the grass and then sitting out on their deck.

It was a really nice day with my family. I just wish I would have gotten a picture with my two littles...I can't believe we didn't. Oh well, we can always take one another day.

I am so lucky to be McKenna & Ben's Mom. There's no better job in this world.
