McKenna had her 2 week doctor appointment on Monday, April 26th. She weighed 5lbs. 15oz.! She gained 11oz. in 11 days! She was 20 1/2 inches long and her head measured 13 3/8cm. Her weight was in the <5th percentile, her height the 50th, and her head the 5th. She's a peanut!
At two weeks old, McKenna already made her first trip to the hospital for blood work. I guess she's a lot more like her Momma than we all thought!!!
Dr. Kreiling's office called to tell me that Kenna's newborn screening results had come in and her TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone) came back abnormal. They wanted her to head back to the hospital for another round of blood work that way they could recheck it. As a newborn, TSH level should be <20, McKenna's was 28.5. Not ridiculously high, but high.
Kenna had a few tears while the nurse took her blood. The nurse pricked her heel and proceeded to massage the blood into the vial...I can't believe there isn't an easier way...
another view of the bandage and those delicious little tootsies!Later that evening Dr. Kreiling called me with the results. As of that moment, a normal TSH level is 5.5. McKenna's was 5.59! Dr. Kreiling was very happy with that level and was not worried at all. But, just to make sure she wants to redraw in 2 weeks.
Here's Kenna in her rocking chair...two weeks old on April 23, 2010

We're working on strengthening those neck muscles! Here's McKenna enjoying her tummy time...she didn't enjoy it for very long!

Mackenzie & I ventured out of the house on a beautiful day and took the puppies and MJ on a walk around our neighborhood.

We met Katie at Starbucks after school one day. It's Katie's mission to get "Starbucks" in her vocabulary before she's 2! ;)
Trippy loves her sister so much. It's amazing how great she is with McKenna. Check out these pictures of the two of them laying with their Dad! So sweet!
